Hi There, recently my pavilion dv6 has lost ALL sound. speakers dont work nor do head phones or External Speakers....
i have downloaded and re installed SP59564 driver, installed it, removed all audio devices in Device manager rebooted (numerous times) run windows updates all to no avail.
i cannot pinpoint when the sound disappeared so i dont think a roll back would help
in between all of this i have also tied SP71717 & SP71886 neither of which made any difference..
one other point to note. this laptop is a "Beats" version but i dont have the "Beats" sound mixer like my Envy 15.
Any help restoring sound would be greatly appreciated.

@Crewzar Have you attempted to update the BIOS, Video card & Audio drivers to resolve this issue?
- If not, here's the link to download and install the above updates: Click here
While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:
Step 1: Right-click on the Start button in the taskbar area and then click Device Manager to open the same.
Step 2: In the Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers.
Step 3: You should now see your audio driver name. Most likely you have Realtek High Definition Audio, Right-click on it and then click Uninstall device option.
Step 4: You will now get the following confirmation dialog. Select Delete the driver software for this device checkbox and then Yes button when you see the confirmation dialog to go ahead and uninstall the device driver.
Restart your PC once & it should auto-reinstall a working driver.
If the issue with the sound continues, The best way to resolve the issue is by using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:
CLICK HERE FOR STEP BY STEP GUIDE
(simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).

Hi Riddle_Decipher and thanks for the reply.
one of the problems i seem to face is there are NO drivers for this laptop running win10, and as you would know win7 has now reached end of life...every time i tried i got the "We are unable to find drivers for your product"
That said, i manually updated the BIOS (which was out of date) to the latest win7 version on the hp site, rebooted and no difference.
i then uninstalled all audio devices and rebooted, and once again no difference.
So i then followed the HP Guided Troubleshooter and performed the "Power Reset" and Lo and Behold, i have sound again..
once again thanks for taking the time to respond.
