Hey guys, im hoping someone here has a smart fix.

it all started with i had an "plugged in - not charging" error on my 2 weeks old laptop, which was fixed with bios and driver updates, after around a days worth of trying i finally fixed that..

however, here a new issues arrived - The audio icon on taskbar has a red cross on it, and states "no Audio device installed" and this happened around the bios update (F.10 Rev A from August 9th). in device manager i can se the "intet Smart Audio" has error code 10, unable to start device, configuration mismatch.

So far i have tried:

1. Reset bios to default settings

2. Reinstall all audio drivers

3. Running audio diagnostics from UEFI (works like a charm - full audio)

4. Resetting the PC from advanced start

5. another try with the drivers (both from HP support page, and from Driver Easy)

No progress so far 😞

Im convinced its an software issue, as its works fine in the UEFI, however not with windows booted, but im running my head against a wall here, any ideas? Pictures stated below from Device Manager.

So i think i finall.y found a soloution

After reading every forumpost i could find which reminded slightly like my issues, i found an old Realtek driver (SP82767) i was able to get windows to recognize my speakers again, after that i could update the driver, and now i have sound again.

and all issues in device manager seem to have been solved!

Addition: Checked Services from CMD - Both Windows Audio and Intel Audio states "Started" as they should

Read a guide regarding deleting corrupt Registry files (upper and lower filters) - those are not present in RegEdit either.

Also, Windows is fully updated as per 29/08-18, same goes for HP Support assistant, it states no new drivers available
