Hi, after the windows 11 (22H2) upgrade, my audio device from my laptop is not found anymore. i have rolled windows back, and the sound worked again. I have tried to pause this upgrade, but the update keeps coming back, and sound keep being not found. not sure what i should do to fix this, I have tried different things, but audio device is absolutely not found in device manager, so no way to force a driver version for example. I have tried to do the test directly in the BIOS (F2 at startup), and it works fine, but i am not sure what to do from here.

Would you have any idea ? Thanks so much for your help.

PS: not sure i understand why a 4y old computer sound device stops working in a mandatory windows update..

OK, i found a solution to fix the issue, found in another post. Actually, i needed to go in Device Manager > System devices, and uninstall the 2 Intel Smart Sound Technology (OED and Audio Controller), and delete the drivers while uninstalling.

Once both uninstalled, rebooted my laptop, and everything reinstalled properly at startup !

I hope this helps others, i have been struggling on this for a few days.

The solution given worked for me on 5/18/23 & my audio worked afterwards. I saved the solution in a Word doc just in case I needed to repeat this. Solution said: "uninstall the 2 Intel Smart Sound Technology (OED and Audio Controller), and delete the drivers while uninstalling." Then reboot (restart) your laptop.
