I recently replaced the hd with a ssd. After the install was completed and the system running in win 8.1 all was well except that Audio was missing. Win 8.1 reports that No Audio Device is Installed. I have run UEFI hardware diagnostics and the audio to speaker and headphones passed. I have booted a linux live cd and audio works as well.
How do I get Windows to see the audio system?

Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if installing the latest audio driver directly from Realtek gets the audio to work again.
Accept the agreement. Download and install the Windows 64 bit audio driver from the link below and restart the PC.

I installed the latest, 2017, driver from REALTEK with no change in the problem. Is their any way to get Win 8.1 to drop what it thinks it knows and get it to reinstall? Due to the large amount of software installed I do not want to do a refresh.
