@Sarfe, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.
I understand you're facing an audio issue on your HP Notebook 15-da1077ne after upgrading to Windows 11, where it shows "No audio output device installed." You've already tried troubleshooting with Microsoft support, so let's dig deeper.

What the Device Manager shows:

From your screenshot, I see:

  • High Definition Audio Device
  • Twins ANC / Twins ANC Hands-Free (likely Bluetooth earbuds)

This suggests the system is using a generic Windows audio driver, which may not fully support your notebook's hardware.

Steps to Fix the Audio Issue:

Step 1: Identify the correct audio driver

Your notebook likely uses Realtek High Definition Audio

Step 2: Download and install the official HP audio driver

  1. Go to the HP Software & Drivers page: Official HP® Support
  2. Select Windows 10 (64-bit) as the OS (since Windows 11 drivers may not be listed).
  3. Download the Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver.
  4. Install the driver and restart your notebook.

Step 3: Re-enable audio device (if still missing)

If the audio device is still not showing:

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Click View > Show hidden devices.
  3. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
  4. Right-click and Uninstall any greyed-out or problematic audio devices.
  5. Restart your PC, Windows should reinstall the correct driver.

Step 4: Run HP Support Assistant

HP Support Assistant can automatically detect and install missing drivers:

I hope your issue is now resolved. If not, feel free to reply and we’ll continue helping until everything’s sorted!

Hi Max3Aj
Thank you for the reply and guidance. I've followed all the instruction as you mentioned, but issue still not fixed,
I've downloaded the High Definition Audio Driver, installed and its not appearing in the Device Manager under Sound Video and Game controller, clicked on Scan for hardware changes, but nothing shows there, attached screenshot

@Sarfe, Thanks for the update and for sharing the screenshot. You've done a great job following the steps so far. Here's what I noticed and what we can try next:

  • The Realtek High Definition Audio Driver was downloaded, but it's not appearing under "Sound, video and game controllers."
  • Only High Definition Audio Device (generic Microsoft driver) and Twins ANC (Bluetooth audio) are listed.
  • HP Support Assistant scan did not install the Realtek driver successfully.

Next Steps to Fix the Issue:

Step 1: Manually install the Realtek driver via Device Manager

Download the latest Realtek driver from HP (if not already):
Official HP® Support

Extract the .exe using a tool like 7-Zip or run it to unpack the files.

Open Device Manager → Right-click High Definition Audio Device → Select Update driver.

Choose Browse my computer for drivers → Point to the extracted Realtek folder (usually in C:\SWSetup\SP105329 or wherever you extracted it).

Click Next and let Windows install the Realtek driver manually.

Step 2: Enable Realtek Audio in BIOS (if applicable)

Sometimes, audio hardware may be disabled in BIOS:

  1. Restart your notebook and press Esc or F10 to enter BIOS.
  2. Look for Advanced > Device Configuration or System Configuration.
  3. Ensure Audio Device or Realtek Audio is Enabled.
  4. Save changes and exit.

Step 3: Check for hidden devices

  1. In Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices.
  2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
  3. If Realtek appears greyed out, right-click and uninstall it.
  4. Restart your notebook.

Step 4: Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI

To check if the audio hardware is detected:

  1. Turn off the notebook.
  2. Power on and press Esc, then F2 to launch HP Diagnostics.
  3. Run the Audio Test under Component Tests.

I hope this helps!

If my response resolves your issue, please click “Accepted Solution” to help others find the answer. Also, don’t forget to click the “Yes” button to say thanks!

Take care and have a great day.
