HP ProBook 640 G5 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 11

Following the updating of the HP ProBook 640 G5 from Windows 10 Pro 21H2 to Windows 11 Pro (64 bit) I have lost all audio output from the 3.5 mm audio jack.  I have restarted the machine and checked to ensure that there are no updates to be installed but to no avail.  I have searched the web for this problem and any solutions but have not located anything specific to this matter.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I had the same problem.  You have to install drivers for Windows 10, because they are newer than drivers for Windows 11:

Operating systems:Windows 10 version (64-bit)
Type:Driver-AudioVersion:13.9215.4880.97 Rev.A
Release date:Aug 20, 2021
File name:sp132849.exe(467.7 MB)
- after instalation in Device manager you will see information:
Date: 03.08.2021.
Version: 6.0.9215.1

With this driver notebook will recognize headphones. Because of upgrade from Windows 10, you may have this version allready, but in that case, you still have to install (reinstall) it again.

Driver for Windows 11 is older and not functional for 3.5 mm headphones:

Type:Driver-AudioVersion:13.9136.3349.95 Rev.A
Operating systems:Windows 11 version 21H2 (64-bit)
Release date:Mar 29, 2021
File name:sp113081.exe(375.5 MB)

HP need to replace drivers on support page.

Hello,

We have headest+integrated mic on headset (so it's 3.5mm 4pin) groud+lef+right+mic connector.

We have same problem on multiple 650 G5, so i have installed sp132849.exe, and now have audio again in headset (3.5mm headset + mic) but the mic not work (so with win 10 had worked fine headset + mic).

HP Can you help us?

Best regards.
