Hi @sumayer,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing audio issues when playing videos in your browser on your HP laptop, there are a few steps you can take to try and resolve the problem. Please follow these troubleshooting steps.

  • Check the volume settings: Make sure the volume on your laptop is turned up and not muted. Look for the volume control icon in the system tray (usually located in the bottom-right corner of the screen) and adjust the volume level accordingly.
  • Test audio in other applications: Check if you have audio output in other applications such as media players or music streaming services. If you have sound in other programs but not in your browser, the issue may be browser-specific.
  • Update your browser: Ensure that you have the latest version of your web browser installed. Outdated browsers can sometimes cause compatibility issues with audio playback. Visit the official website of your browser and download the latest version if necessary.
  • Clear browser cache and cookies: Accumulated cache and cookies can sometimes interfere with audio playback. Clearing them may resolve the issue. Access your browser's settings or preferences and look for options to clear browsing data, cache, and cookies.
  • Disable browser extensions: Some browser extensions or add-ons can conflict with audio playback. Temporarily disable any extensions you have installed and try playing videos again. If the audio works after disabling extensions, re-enable them one by one to identify the problematic extension.
  • Update audio drivers: Outdated or incompatible audio drivers can cause audio problems. Visit the official HP support website, enter your laptop's model number, and download the latest audio drivers for your specific model. Install the drivers and restart your laptop.
  • Check system sound settings: Open the sound settings on your laptop and ensure that the correct audio output device is selected. Sometimes, the wrong audio device may be selected, causing the audio to not play through the desired output.
  • Run a virus scan: Malware or viruses on your system can interfere with various functions, including audio playback. Use a reliable antivirus program to scan your laptop and remove any threats that are detected.
  • Try a different browser: If the audio problem persists, try playing videos in a different browser to see if the issue is specific to your current browser. Install an alternative browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox) and test audio playback there.
  • System Restore: If the issue started recently and you can't pinpoint the cause, you can try restoring your laptop to a previous point in time when audio was working fine. Use the System Restore feature in Windows to roll back your laptop's settings to an earlier state.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
