I have looked into all resources available to get my audio back and my drivers to show up in the device manager. I have reset the computer from the cloud servers, and have tried everything I could read on the net but nothing allows me to replace drivers that aren't there any longer. Can't see the speakers in the system. The HP comes with Intel drivers but Intel can't seem to find any updates to replace the missing drivers.

I have never taken my computers to a repair outlet and don't intend to do so now, but I do need some guidance on this.

This is a first for me. If I have to, I guess I'll leave HP after a lifetime of good experience and head for another manufacturer who uses actual sound drivers I can follow.

Any help would be appreciated.

@alcsbro1

Please try a clean install Audio driver

   1. Download https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp131501-132000/sp131797.exe and save on your computer
   2. Use Device Manager to uninstall audio driver (if any),
   3. Reboot machine,
   4. Install downloaded file above,
   5. Reboot machine.

Hope this helps.

I tried this and it had no effect on anything. My Audio (Game) drivers still don't appear in the device manager since the sx says I have no connected output sound devices. No sound settings work and troubleshooter does nothing except run, without a solution or problem. It's like this computer thinks that sound is unnecessary.

I tried to download legacy devices from windows to no effect. I reloaded my system-nothing.

Running dskchk now, in case I have a corrupted ssd but I don't expect much.

The sound worked until about 3-4 days ago when I went onto my patient portal. The sound, mic and camera all worked- &

then they didn't.

Thanks for your suggestion and I'm open to anything except disassembly of this 1 year old laptop.
