HP EliteBook Folio 9470m Ultrabook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a laptop (HP Folio 9470m), running Windows 10 22H2.

This device is brought recently, so no idea if the previous owner have the same issues (I fresh-install OS when I get it).

This notebook only have DisplayPort . No HDMI. So I connect it to TV (only have HDMI port) through a DP-HDMI adapter. Technically, it's the laptop - adapter - HDMI cable -  the TV.

Video are good, but no audio. Try to (re)install(s) the Intel HD / intel Audio driver many time. No use.

Have tried others OS (MacOS; Linux distros), working flawless.  But I need this device work in Windows OS for reason.

Currently tried with Windows 8.1, no better chance.

My question is, Is there any way to make it work on (any version of) Windows? Thank you, and pardon my poor English.

Please check the adapter cable, does it actually carry sound ? You may need something like

@Banhien

Hi, thank for your help.

Well, I mean, i use the whole setup (Folio 9470m - adapter - HDMI cable - TV) with another OS (still with this very laptop) and there is full video and audio through DisplayPort adapter, so maybe it's not cable fault?

More specific:

-I have tried change the hard-drive then perform h*ckintosh to get MacOS, A bit pain in the *ss first, then, with a few config, it work just fine.

-Using a live USB to try out. 3 different Linux distro (Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Elementary OS). No config needed as the only thing to do is plug the adapter to the notebook and all are done.

-Too make sure It wasn't just what live USB would do, I do an installation (on the new hard-drive, not the one with Windows 10) of each distros to the notebook. No issues were found, at least with the audio & video through DisplayPort.

-Still with the new hard-drive, I tried to install Windows 8.1, with the driver download from the Official HP Driver & Software Download. None have work so far.

Anyway, thanks for your assist. It just may not the issues here.

And pardon me if I said something wrong or rude; English is not my main tongue.
