HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15-ee0047nr

I lost my sound when my Norton account did a driver update. Apparently, my version of Windows 11 (24H2) isn't compatible with my HP ENVY x 360 Laptop.

Hi @MRJane,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Envy x360 lost sound after a Norton driver update, and it seems Windows 11 24H2 isn’t detecting compatible audio drivers. Let’s go through a few steps to resolve this.

Restart Your Laptop
○ A simple restart can sometimes reload audio drivers after updates.

Check Device Manager
○ Press Win + X > Device Manager.
○ Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
○ If Realtek or other audio devices have a warning, right-click > Uninstall device (check Delete the driver software for this device) and restart.

Install Latest HP Audio Drivers
○ Go to HP Support > enter your exact model (HP Envy x360).
○ Download the latest Realtek or Conexant audio driver compatible with Windows 11 24H2.
○ Install the driver and restart.

Run Windows Update
○ Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
○ Install optional updates, which often include compatible audio drivers.

Use HP Support Assistant
○ Open or install HP Support Assistant.
○ Check for driver and BIOS updates; install all recommended updates.

Check Audio Services
○ Press Win + R, type services.msc, press Enter.
○ Ensure Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder are running and set to Automatic.

If Audio Still Doesn’t Work
○ Norton’s driver update may have replaced or corrupted the original driver.
○ Consider uninstalling Norton’s driver update or performing a System Restore to a point before the update.

I hope this helps.
