Hi @Rudebwoy66,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy Laptop 17 is experiencing issues with audio output, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check Volume Settings: Ensure that the volume is turned up and not muted. Sometimes, the simplest solutions are the most effective.
- Restart Your Laptop: A simple restart can sometimes resolve software-related issues, including audio problems.
- Update Audio Drivers: Outdated or corrupted audio drivers can cause issues. Go to the Device Manager, find the audio device, right-click it, and select "Update driver." You can also visit HP's website to download and install the latest audio drivers for your laptop.
- Check Playback Devices: Sometimes, the default audio output device gets changed accidentally. Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar, select "Playback devices," and ensure the correct output device is selected and set as default.
- Run Audio Troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in troubleshooter for audio problems. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, then select "Playing Audio" and follow the instructions.
- Check Physical Connections: Ensure that your headphones or speakers are properly connected to the audio jack or USB port.
- Check for Hardware Issues: If none of the above steps work, there might be a hardware issue with your laptop's audio components.
By going through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the audio output issue on your HP Envy Laptop 17.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
