Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ae0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, my first post

I have a Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ae0xx and recently the RH speaker has stopped working and the LH speaker is badly distorted. This happened prior to a Win update and the notebook has not been dropped or damaged. After looking on this site for clues, i have followed a poster's suggestion and uninstalled the driver and installed the one he/she suggested, however, the problem persists.

My laptop is just out of warranty!

Many thanks.

Please do a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.

  (a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,

        https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp98501-99000/sp98713.exe

  (b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
  (c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
  (d) Reboot again.

Regards.
