Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hello, my HP G61 laptop suddenly stopped producing sound from internal speakers and jack but the playback is showing signal, even the in belt mic is not recording. I tried checking the speaker connections are ok, tried updating, uninstalling and installing sound drivers but to no avail. I even reinstalled windows 10 but the problem persists. What should i do now?

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if this W10 IDT audio driver from a newer model notebook also works for your model.   Restart the PC after installing the driver.

IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver

6.10.6492.0

Sometimes this driver will set the PC headphones as the default output device so if the driver installs but you still have no sound, check the Windows control panel and make sure that the PC speakers are set as the default output device.
