Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just upgraded my notebook to Windows 10 anniversary update build 1607 from a older build (14xx build) and I can't get sound in my tv connected through HDMI. I installed the lastest driver from the HP support website. The audio driver is not functioning well. Here is a screenshot from my device manager:

Hi:

See if this works...

Since the graphics driver is working, let's not trifle with the actual graphics driver.

We need to install the Intel HD audio driver which is why the audio isn't working out of the HDMI port, and that is the problem HD audio device you see listed.

First download and install this free file utility  The 2nd file on the page is for 64 bit.

http://www.7-zip.org/

After you install 7-Zip, download and save but do not run the Intel graphics driver from your notebook's support page.

This package provides the driver that enables the Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

File name: sp72370.exe

Once you have saved the graphics driver file, right click on it and select 7-Zip from the list of items.

Have 7-Zip Extract to: and let it extract the driver into its folder name (sp72370).

After 7-Zip does its thing, go to the device manager and click on the problem HD audio device in your screenshot.

Click on the driver tab, click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder 7-Zip created.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC, and you should get both audio and video out of the HDMI port.
