I've had my Spectre laptop for about 4 months and about 4 weeks ago the sound stopped working on any program I used.
The only way to get it back was to use the HP Support 'Fix Audio Issues' facility which says it has repaired the audio drivers. This is happening almost every time I use my laptop and even happens during a session too. All my system is up to date.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

What is your 15- eb0xxx ? Please perform a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.
(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp112501-113000/sp112547.exe
(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.
