Microsoft Windows 11

Updated RealTek audio drivers eliminated the Loudness Equalization option.  This was the only setting that fixes the inadequate volume levels produced by all Real Tek drivers.  I estimate that RealTek l00% volume levels equate to 75% volume for all others.  This is a long standing issue and Loudness Equalization was the only setting that fixed the problem on 5 previous laptops.  But the latest HP installed laptop driver lacks that enhancement.  To add a few facts, wired headphones, wireless headphones and wireless speakers on this same X360 do not have this low volume issue.  They all work perfectly as expected.  But the wireless drivers for those are Intel produced.  Only the built in speakers rely on RealTek.  So old drivers with that option? Other drivers that are compatible?

HP tried to help.   They charged me $200 for "Special" tech support on this three week old laptop, and then said they were not responsible for fixing this issue.   This is the last shot before I return it.

Hi @CKHedges,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

You can usually find the audio driver for your HP Envy X360 Tablet on the official HP support website. Here's how you can go about it.

  1. Go to the HP support website (www.hp.com).
  2. Click on the "Support" or "Drivers" section.
  3. Enter your HP Envy X360 Tablet model number or select it from the provided list.
  4. Choose your operating system (e.g., Windows 10, Windows 8.1).
  5. Look for the "Audio" or "Sound" driver in the list of available drivers.
  6. Download the appropriate driver for your operating system.
  7. Once downloaded, run the driver installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install the audio driver.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
