HP ENVY 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-cr0000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

03/01/2023.... I have just unboxed my HP Envy 17t cr-0000, and after setting it up; I noticed that my speakers were not nearly as powerful, not nearly as loud, as the speakers of my OLD 17 inch HP. After SEVERAL chat sessions with HP to fix the issue, I learned from a MANAGER; that my laptop had 4 speakers, and that a software glitch was preventing the others from working Two on the bottom,  and two on the top. Numerous trouble shooting to get ALL 4 speakers working  went nowhere.

Finally, I had another Tech session, and in spite of the fact that a Manager informed me that my  laptop has 4 speakers - AND, a manual that confirms it - I learn that my laptop does, indeed; only have TWO SPEAKERS, and that the Manual was  ACTUALLY, for a HP Pavillion.

Imagine ALL the time wasted, to fix a "software glitch" that  was not there; because there  WERE NO additional speakers to fix !!

Less than a week in my home, and I'm considering a Return, Exchange or Refund.

If HP is reading this, I really would like to hear your feedback.

@altonbay,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Look, far be it from me to whitewash incorrect/deceptive product information, but to give HP credit where HP credit is due, no matter where I browsed, I could not find any HP references that this HP Envy 17t-Cr-xxx model was supposed to be equipped with 4 speakers -only with two aka "dual" speakers, with HP Speaker Kit p/n: N13560-001.

Here are a few HP references -for your indulgence, to show you what I found:

I sincerely appreciate your prompt response, and a desire to point out non-factual statements - as mine would seem to appear !!

If I did not make mention of it - A Manager told ME - That my HP Envy had 4 speakers, and that it was a software issue' preventing the top speakers from working.  I  VERIFIED  his words, by going to my HP Support page and clicking on my Owner Manual - Indicating that this device has top and bottom speakers.

lol....You might enjoy this...My LAST Tech session, I repeated the same information  seen here;  and we discover that the Envy manual - at near the end of the pages  -  Was ACTUALLY a  general manual - BUT, for an HP Pavillion.
