Two days ago, upon shutting down my laptop, it said it needed to install updates so I just clicked the 'install updates and shut down'. Since turning my pavilion laptop back on, there is a red cross next to the speaker icon and it says 'no audio output device is installed'.
I have tried troubleshooting as well as all the other steps provided by the HP Support under "A 'No audio device is installed' message displays" for Windows 10 and 8; including searching for updated driver software, uninstalling the audio device, and using the 'HP PC Hardware Diagnostic Windows'. None of these steps have worked for me as my laptop says there are no audio devices to be found.
I would really appreciate if anyone knows how to fix this as I really need the sound to work on my laptop. I have seen a response to a similar question, although this answer was for the Omen model and was partially in another language, so I did not understand.
Please let me know if you have a solution for the Pavilion or a way of explaining this other solution in a more detailed way. Thanks.
