The fan is too loud lately and it heats up the back of my laptop. it also slows down the performance.

There are two main models noted for this series:

HP Pavilion x360 m3-u001dx (ENERGY STAR)

and

HP Pavilion x360 m3-u003dx (ENERGY STAR)

 

Both products introduced in mid-2016

 

Known solutions included here:

The fan may be dirty or failing.
