Pavilion X360 14-ba125cl
Microsoft Windows 11

When I first started zoom meeting I found that the internal microphone is not working.

I checked the sound setting and I don't see any internal microphone from anywhere.

Only input devices I can see under the recording device are Microphone Array and Stereo Mix.

'Show Disabled Devices' and 'Show Disconnected Devices' are enabled for sure.

I also checked device manager and there is no 'internal microphone' under 'Audio Inputs and Outputs'.

I conducted factory reset but still don't see internal microphone.

I think it is hardware issue but I just want to hear from experts if there is anything that I can try further.

Also, if it is a hardware issue, what kind of fix should be performed?

Anyone had any similar experiences?

Its specs

          https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06156384

It should have 2 microphones on the top of its frame.

Right click the speaker icon, select Sound settings, what do you see on Input ? Please perform a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.

  (a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,
                 https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp104001-104500/sp104405.exe

  (b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
  (c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
  (d) Reboot again.

Regards.

BH,

Thanks for quick response.

As I mentioned in the original post, Only input devices I can see under the recording device are Microphone Array and Stereo Mix.

I followed your instruction but still I don't see the internal microphone.

@Banhien

Any other thoughts or any similar experience?

I also tried to run HP H/W diagnostics but it doesn't start the Audio playback test. When I select internal speaker as the audio output, nothing happens, so I couldn't finish the Audio playbeck test.

And to be honest, I have no idea what playback test does for microphone issue..

It seems like the PC has built without an internal microphone ar all and it was like that since I purchased this PC.

I guess it's product quality issue but since the warranty has expired, I may need to pay around $100 for the repair.

Is there anything I can do for the hardware to repair or troubleshoot this?

Should I replace the Webcam Microphone board?

is there any other component that I need to test?

I am seeking help from anyone with same experience ...
