Product: Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e1000 (53G39AV)

When I activate my external headphone mic in a chat or on my camera, there is a buzzing noise that extends until the app that activated the microphone is closed as well as any other app that was making noise in the background when the mic was activated. The issue doesn't occur when there is no external mic. Not entirely certain what is going on. I tried updating all my drivers, but everything is up to date. Not sure where to go next.
