I've just bought OMEN by HP 15-dc1044na and the audio input and output sound very odd.
With output it feels like maybe some mid frequencies were boosted(?) compared to lower and higher frequencies, sound just doesn't feel right (but it might be my headset though)
With input I was told on voice communicators that my microphone sounds horribly bad, went and did some test recordings with it and indeed it sounds horrible.
So I tried updating audio drivers, but when I tried to install the latest audio driver Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver(Windows 10 v1909) I've got an error saying driver is not compatible with my OS, so I've updated BIOS to F.14 and I still got the same error.
What else should I try? Because I don't believe built-in microphone in here sounds worse than in my other laptop that is 5 years old.

Please do a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.
(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp100001-100500/sp100450.exe (new driver last month Dec 2019)
(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.
Regards.
