Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Whenever I press the D key on the keyboard my hedaset gets muted.

When googling thisproblem it seems to be related to the built in Conexant driver, but it interferes with my wireless headset.

Suggestions provdied so fare are to remove some audio settings app from the startup group, but I have none there.

After some poking around based on a Google search, seems the culprit is the "SmartAudio CPL".

Current workaround is:

 - Open Task Manager (press ctrl-alt-del, then click on Task Manager)

 - Select the "Startup" tab

 - Find the "SmartAudio CPL" task/app

 - Click on Disable

I am not sure what other functinality this will disable, but it does fix the random mute/unmute issue.

I forgot to put in my previous reply,

Can anyone from HP Notebook support say whether there is a fix/patch for this application (SmartAudio CPL)?

Seems a shame for us to ship something that has a known bug in it.
