I am unable to connect my earphones to my laptop. It appears unplugged on the laptop. I have recently updated my Windows 11 to version 23h2. There are no drivers available for this OS. Can you help me?

Hi @BlueOrchid11,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your earphones are not being detected after updating to Windows 11 version 23H2, here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Physical Connections:
- Ensure that your earphones are properly plugged into the correct audio jack. If they use USB, try a different port.
2. Test with Another Device:
- Plug your earphones into another device (like a phone or another computer) to ensure they are working properly.
3. Check Sound Settings:
- Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Sound settings.
- Under Output, check if your earphones are listed. If they are, select them as the output device.
4. Run Windows Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > System > Sound.
- Scroll down and click on Troubleshoot under Advanced. Follow the prompts to detect issues.
5. Update Audio Drivers:
- Even if specific drivers are not available for version 23H2, try updating your audio drivers:
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
- Right-click your audio device and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
6. Roll Back Driver:
- If the problem started after the update, consider rolling back to the previous driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click your audio device, select Properties, go to the Driver tab, and click Roll Back Driver if the option is available.
7. Check Audio Enhancements:
- Sometimes audio enhancements can interfere with device detection:
- Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar, select Sound settings, and then go to Advanced sound options.
- Disable any audio enhancements.
8. Reset Windows Audio Service:
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Find Windows Audio, right-click it, and select Restart.
9. Update Windows:
- Check for any additional Windows updates. Sometimes follow-up updates can fix bugs introduced in previous versions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
