What has worked for me !

Run windows update and make sure your up to date.   Now very important DISABLE windows update, the option is for 7 days.  Once disabled download the latest AMD Drivers.  Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.8.3.

https://www.amd.com/en/support/apu/amd-ryzen-processors/amd-ryzen-7-4000-g-series-desktop-processors...

The driver says 4700G but will work with any 4000 series APU.

Check the full clean install option, system will reboot and complete the install.  Problem solved.  Test your ZOOM / Video app you should be ok.  The issue will occur again if after you re enable windows update Microsoft ignores your latest up to date driver and replaces it with whatever the hell is in on Windows servers.  Please let me know if this works for you.

No system wipe / full recovery needed

Did you try my solution ?

I tried your suggestion yesterday. My daughter has the laptop at college so I can't test it. I haven't heard anything today from her. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's hard to do online classes when she has to keep rebooting her laptop.

I've been a week without one freeze.  Good luck.

This seems to be the best option we have for now and several users across several different threads dealing with same issues have come up with the same or similar fix.  Install all updates, then pause any further Windows updates, install your updated graphics drivers and you're set.

I have the same problem. It happens with Zoom, MS Teams, and Facebook Messenger video calls. Spent roughly 5 hours with HP support one night this week. They helped uninstall/reinstall drivers and updates which only caused further issues that ultimately ended in factory reset. It worked fine for a day (including two hours of video calls) but then came back to the same issue today. I'm past the return window through Best Buy and HP seems to be no help. Will be happy to hear if anyone finds a fix for this!

I've been having the same issue. I did a factory reset and made sure everything was up to date. I did all of the suggestions provided by HP support, but nothing worked. I'm going to try pausing the updates like another user said (Svan1971) and installing the other AMD drivers to see if that helps for the time being.

Edit: I just tried the fix Svan1976 recommended and did a test zoom call. Unfortunately, it did not work for me. 😞

All of my online classes use Zoom and MS Teams, so if this issue isn't fixed, I'm going to really struggle with my classes. HP, please find a fix for this soon! I tried all of your (HP's) fixes and nothings been solved.

Mine just crashed on Zoom after 20 minutes.  If I could return this I would.  It is so hard to debug Zoom.
