Spectre x360 13
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I've had the Spectre x360 since January and the built-in in speaker volume is so bad, if I want to watch a video for example I have to hold it to my ear like a phone! The funny thing is that's not me being sarcastic, that's the actual reality. Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. are totally unusable without external headphones.

I'm talking about all sounds as well, even Windows alert sounds. Basically it's pointless this laptop having them. I've tried:

updating the drivers

deleting the drivers and letting Windows Update put them back on

reset BIOS to defaults

clean install Windows

I'm at a loss. This is a work laptop so I can't afford to send it back for repair and be without it. Not unless HP send me another one first.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

"Let's start off by updating the Bios, Chipset, and graphics card drivers on your PC" - this bit has already been done. I did this first thing after getting the laptop.

I'll try and reinstall the Audio drivers to see if that helps, but as above, I updated all drivers as soon as I got the laptop.

Thanks again

Unfortunately it's no different.

To put it into perspective, volume at 100 is about the same loudness as my Surface Pro 6 Tablet is on about 40. So it's more than half the loudness.

Honestly, if there's even the slightest ambient noise in the room, the speakers on the Spectre are absolutely useless. Otherwise it's an amazing machine 😀

HI@lanky_doodle,

We have done the basic troubleshooting as per the document and the notebook needs to checked taking remote access so that get to know it's a hardware or software issue.

I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.
