**Unable to change audio output from 16-bit to 24-bit on HP system**

Hello HP Community,

I'm facing an issue with my HP system where I cannot change the audio output format from 16-bit to 24-bit 48000 Hz for my headphones.

**My Setup:**
- Output device: Headphones (via Realtek Audio)
- Current format: 16-bit (only option available)
- Desired format: 24-bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality)

**What I've tried:**
- Opened Sound Settings → Output Device → Properties → Advanced
- The 24-bit options are either missing from the dropdown or greyed out
- Checked Device Manager — multiple audio devices are listed (AMD Audio, NVIDIA Virtual Audio, MediaTek Bluetooth, Realtek, OMEN Cam & Voice)

**What I suspect:**
The Realtek driver installed may be a generic Windows version that doesn't expose 24-bit formats. I'm unsure which driver version to install for my specific HP model.

Could anyone help me with:
1. The correct Realtek audio driver for my HP system
2. Whether the front panel headphone jack on HP systems supports 24-bit output
3. Any HP-specific audio settings I might be missing

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Depending on your laptop model and its age, it may not support 24 bit and 48000 through the headphone jack

Bluetooth may have the same problem if the codec is not available.

You would have to lookup the audio chip model to find if it supports 24bit.

Go here and put in your serial number and look for the audio chip model.

Possibly the VEN and DEV number from the system manager can be used to find the audio device model

Possibly you have the microsoft drivers and need the HP ones.

Find your laptop here and see what drivers are available
