Realtek audio was not working once updated

I have no sound output from apps however the pc notifications are coming through as normal - I have had to uninstall and reinstall the Realtek audio driver and it still didn’t work so have had to run an old update from the device history and it is working again - going forward I am concerned I will not be able to update the audio driver. Is this a common issue and is there anything I can do to remedy the issue?

This is an issue that usually happens, but it is solved by uninstalling the driver and updating it again, there is no guarantee that it will not happen again.
