I have been doing a lot of video calls recently but for some reason, my laptop cannot hear my voice. Even when I try to test the voice record option it does not hear me. I do not use any headphones to talk, I am just trying to talk through my laptop's input. I've never used the feature until this year and the laptop is less than 2 years old. The setting is on the realtek input for sound. How can I get this to work so I can speak through my laptop?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Let's uninstall and install Realtek High-Definition Audio Driver.

  1. In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
  2. Double-click Sound, video and game controllers.
  3. Right-click the sound device and select Uninstall.
  4. Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/desktops to download the new audio driver for your computer.
  5. Test for sound. If the Mic problem persists

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
