Hi @LatamUser,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Realtek sound card has disappeared after a Windows 11 update, and you're seeing issues in Device Manager with an error related to oem112.inf and 0xC00000E5, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you resolve the problem:
1. Check Device Manager
Open Device Manager:
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
Scan for Hardware Changes:
- In Device Manager, click on the Action menu and select Scan for hardware changes. This might help Windows recognize the Realtek sound card again.
Check for Missing Devices:
- If you see an entry under "Sound, video and game controllers" but it has an error, right-click on it and choose Update driver.
2. Update or Reinstall Realtek Audio Drivers
Download Latest Drivers:
- Visit the Realtek website or your motherboard manufacturer’s website (if using an integrated sound solution) to download the latest Realtek audio drivers for Windows 11.
Install Drivers:
- Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver. Restart your computer after installation.
Manual Driver Installation:
- If the installer doesn’t work, you can manually update the driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click on the problematic device, select Update driver.
- Choose Browse my computer for drivers.
- Navigate to the location where you saved the downloaded drivers and follow the prompts to install.
3. Uninstall and Reinstall the Audio Device
Uninstall the Device:
- In Device Manager, right-click on the Realtek audio device and select Uninstall device.
- Check the box for Delete the driver software for this device if it appears.
- Restart your computer. Windows should automatically try to reinstall the driver.
Reinstall the Driver:
- After rebooting, if Windows does not automatically install the driver, use the driver you downloaded earlier to manually install it.
4. Check Windows Updates
Install Optional Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and see if there are any optional updates available that include driver updates.
Rollback Update:
- If the problem started after a specific update, you can try rolling back the update:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Update history > Uninstall updates.
- Select the recent update that might be causing the issue and uninstall it.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
