Spectre 360x 15 (2017)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I updated my Spectre 360x 15 (2017) BIOS to F39. The operating system is windows 10 build (1809) October update. The right speaker does not work. I reinstalled the audio driver the right speaker didnot work.

I tested the speaker using the HP diagnostics tools by pressing F2 during the booting. The speaker did not work.

I tried to reinstall the BIOS again the speaker work, and it stops working after a while. So, every time I need the right speaker to work the bios should be reinstalled.

Is there any suggestion to solve the problem.

@Mohanned,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the right speaker is not working after updating the BIOS.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you download and install HP support assistant from the below link and install all the updates and check whether the issue is resolved.

https://www8.hp.com/in/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_in/en/any/psg/p...

Here is how it is done.

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

  6. Perform any other update management actions as needed.

    • Postpone an update: Click Remind me, and then select a time preference.

    • Delete an available update: Click the Delete icon  to remove the update from the list and record it in the action log.

    • Review updates status: Click Action log below the list to view installed, postponed, or deleted updates.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thank you for your response.

I already installed HP assistance and tried to get a driver update.  In addition, I applied the audio check it does not detect the issue.

The temporary solution is either roll back the BIOS or update it using the supported BIOS update F.39.

Kindly, if there is an ability to roll back the BIOS to the previous version., such as F.36, F.37 or F.38.

Thank you again

Thank you for your response.

In fact, I tried to recover my BIOS by following the instruction in the site you mentioned. The BIOS recovery tells me that the process failed ( the BIOS signature file is missing).

Kindly, What is this error for?
