We recently purchased an HP-15 with an intel core ultra 7.   This computer has the intel smart sound technology BUS.

The Sound Video and Game Controller is missing after windows 11 update.  We are getting the No audio device is installed error message by the microphone icon.  The sound slider does not move.  We have no sound.

I have tried many of the several  fixes that are on Youtube.  The computer crashes when trying to use the "legacy harware" driver update for realtek.

I downloaded the latest realtek driver for the high definition audio version 6.0.9712.1 and attempted to install them.  When opening the drivers, I do not seem to get the usual blue line indicating they are being extracted.

Not sure where to go from here.  I saw one other post that seemed to indicate the fix is a pain because the computer was not recognizing the new drivers.

we managed to get the situation fixed by opening the hp assistant icon on the toolbar.  It had some recent updates and one of them happened to be the drivers we needed.  Clicking on that loaded the executable files and restarting solved the issue and sound was back on.  I'm not sure where the assistant icon came from or if downloading the drivers the previous day put them in this update folder instead of where I looked for them.   My wife actually  was the one who opened the hp assistant and doesn't really know what she did, but it worked.

I did not see anything like what I'm showing here, using HP Assistant to solve this problem, on any of the youtube videos I watch (probably a dozen).  Hopefully this twist will help someone else.
