Product: HP 15s-eq1000 Laptop PC (8WQ33AV)
This exact issue was put up by user Kam1962 recently but was not resolved. I often use Cast desktop with Chromecast rather than my HDMI cable.
On my new HP laptop, it mutes the sound by default. When I unmute the sound, it plays sound on both laptop and tv, with the lag between them giving an echo. Turning the sound down on the laptop turns the sound down on the tv as well. Using a headphone acts the same as having the sound off- no sound on the tv.
I've searched the internet for solutions, and found that all the people having this problem are using HP laptops.
