Hi all.
The sound level on my laptop is randomly fluctuating without any user input.
What happens is that suddenly the volume will decrease to a much lower level than the one it is set to.
It might return to its normal level after a while but it also might not.
Tried deleting and reinstalling the sound driver to no avail.
Higlhy appreciate any help.

Please do a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.
(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp96001-96500/sp96155.exe
(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.
Regards.

I have same issue. After reinstall driver software
I manage off "noise suppression" settings for speakers.
And sound OK on speakers.
But if I put any devise in audio jack like (headphones)
The settings not active and "noise suppression" is on.

I just spent the last two days troubleshooting this same issue. I tried all the standard fixes and nothing worked. I needed to get good mic input for recording training videos for our cad team, so I got drastic and uninstalled the B&O app from control panel. I am so very happy to say that it fixed everything. The B&O app may work to play music but it ruins any kind of recording. I got all my rough audio in today, and it sounds like it should. Your screen shot is of the app that causes the problem, so you will loose that controller, but you still have sound mixer by right clicking the speaker icon at the bottom.
