I've been having issues with my speakers on my laptop for the past year. The right one randomly stops working every time I fix it. I contacted hp support and the guy fixed it by reinstalling some drivers, I tried to do it myself but it did not have the same result. When I wear headphones it works fine. Just one speaker isn't working. (reinstalled a bus driver and audio driver)

I've tried updating the audio driver and it made the speakers both stop working. I reinstalled the original audio driver again and the left one still only works. my troubleshooting software does not detect problems. I'm starting to think the speakers may be faulty.

@Ahjelle

That probably due to Windows updates. Re-install driver should help. Please try

(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,

    https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp83501-84000/sp83941.exe

(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.

Regards.

That makes them both stop working. and a clicking noise comes from the speakers instead. There is an update for the audio driver but also makes them both stop working...
