Good day. I'm looking for a solution to an audio problem that occurred recently. Since I upgraded the drivers on my laptop from the official HP website, the main volume controller (Realtek Audio) is not working and I have to adjust the volume of each application separately, because it is too loud and there's a mess in the sound in general.
Is there a justification for this issue and a solution I can try? Thanks.

Hi @AegisReg71,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing sound problems with your HP 15s-Eq1000 Laptop PC after a driver update. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Restart your laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary glitches. Restart your laptop and check if the sound is working again.
- Check volume and mute settings: Ensure that the volume is not muted or set to a very low level. Look for the volume icon in the taskbar or in the system tray and adjust the volume accordingly.
- Update audio drivers: Although you mentioned a driver update already, it's worth double-checking if the correct drivers are installed. Visit the HP support website, enter your laptop's model number (15s-Eq1000), and download the latest audio drivers specifically designed for your laptop model. Install them and restart your laptop.
- Roll back audio drivers: If the issue started right after a driver update, it's possible that the new drivers are causing the problem. You can try rolling back to the previous version of the audio drivers. To do this, go to the Device Manager (you can search for it in the Windows search bar) and locate the audio device under the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section. Right-click on the audio device, select "Properties," go to the "Driver" tab, and click on "Roll Back Driver." Follow the on-screen instructions and restart your laptop.
- Run the audio troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in audio troubleshooter that can help identify and fix common sound issues. To access it, go to the Windows search bar, type "Troubleshoot settings," and open the corresponding system settings. Under the "Get up and running" section, click on "Playing Audio" and follow the instructions provided.
- Check external audio devices: If you're using external speakers or headphones, make sure they are properly connected to your laptop and functioning correctly. Test the sound with different audio devices to see if the problem persists.
- System Restore: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you can try performing a system restore to a point before the driver update. This will revert your laptop's settings to a previous state, including the audio drivers. Note that this will undo any system changes made after the restore point, so proceed with caution.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Unfortunately, the problem was not solved even with the methods of support. I have tried everything to solve the problem but in vain. Strange, because before I make the mistake of updating the drivers it was working normally without a problem. Of course, if I install older Realtek drivers the problem will resolve, but it doesn't have the depth and quality that the later drivers offer. The sound seems to come out of empty gas cans. Therefore, I chose to keep the audio drivers updated, along with the problem. I had similar problems with the graphics drivers before that. So, I can say that my experience with HP was bittersweet.

Thank you very much for your interest in my problem, but I have a problem with the message you sent, it seems that the personal messages folder is empty and there is no indication that I received such a message. Why is this happening? Am I doing something wrong?
