Whenever playing a video or playing games or sometimes when using the browser with things that use adobe flash player the screen often freezes for a second or two with a buzzing sound. I've tried reinstalling the audio drivers and checking if there are any updates for it but it didn't fix anything.

Hi @AbidC,
Thank you for replying,
As I understand you have tried to connect a headset and you are still able to hear the crackling noise, this could be an issue with the drivers.
When you delete the software for this device and restart the computer, it automatically looks for the drivers and installs it.
As suggested please go ahead and update the Bios, Chipset and Audio drivers on your PC from our HP support website, using the link.
Once done, you can once again restart the computer and check for the crackling noise.
If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to run a test on the Audio from F2, as it's outside of Windows, If you hear crackling sound while running the test this clearly is a hardware failure.
Let me know if those steps worked for you.
If they did, that’s awesome!
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
That’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!
Good Luck.

Hi @AbidC,
Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand you are having issues with the computer making a buzzing sound and screen freezes. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Did this happen after a software update or a windows update?
Did you connect a headset to the headset port and check if there is any crackling from the headset?
What happens if you mute the speakers do you still hear a buzzing noise coming from the computer? If the noise is still coming from the computer then this could be from the Hard drive
Have you tried to update the drivers on the computer?
Please perform these steps for starters.
- Please connect a headset to the headset port and check again. If there is no crackling from the headset, then the speakers are defective and need to be replaced.
- Please contact HP phone support to get them replaced and the unit serviced.
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number, Case number and phone number appear.
They will be happy to assist you immediately.
The factory warranty should take care of repair services for you.
If there is a crackling/Buzzing noise from the headset also, then uninstall the sound drivers from device manager.
Steps: right –click on start> device manager> expand sound video and game controllers> right-click on the audio driver and click on uninstall.
Remember to check the box “delete the software for this device”. Then restart the computer and update the latest bios, chipset and audio drivers from this link: http://hp.com/drivers
- Please select the country and type the product# of the unit.
- Then follow the on-screen instructions to update the drivers and check if this resolves the issue.
The best way to do that is using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:
Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Eagerly waiting for your response!
I hope you have a good day ahead,
And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.
Regards,

I connected a headset and yes it still makes the sound. I tried delete the software for the device drivers and checked the "delete the software for this device” box and restarted but the drivers seemed to come back. Is this meant to happen and do i update after that?
