Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Restart your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve software-related issues. Restart your laptop and check if the problem persists.
Check Audio Settings:
- Right-click on the speaker icon in the bottom right corner of your screen and select "Open Sound settings."
- Ensure that the correct audio output device is selected.
- Click on "Device properties" and check if the volume is set to an appropriate level.
Update Audio Drivers:
- Go to the "Device Manager" (you can search for it in the Start menu).
- Locate the "Sound, video and game controllers" section, right-click on your audio device, and select "Update driver."
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update the driver.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Make sure your operating system is up-to-date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for updates.
Check Mute Settings:
- Ensure that no third-party applications or settings are muting the audio.
- Check the mute settings in any installed audio software that may be controlling your sound.
System Restore:
- If the issue started recently, you may consider performing a system restore to revert your system to a previous state when the audio was working correctly.
Test in Safe Mode:
- Restart your laptop in Safe Mode and check if the audio behaves normally. If it does, it could indicate that a third-party application is causing the issue.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue
