I tried your solution but still no bass through headphone output jack, the solution offered by HP Support doesn't work either....  this thing is driving me nuts already...

It seems that disabling audio enhancements from Windows Sound Properties did the trick.

 

If enabled, it doesn't matter how hard you want to try to enhance the bass from HP Audio Control EQ, it will sound the same: compressed, with absolutely no bass, miserable quality!

 

HP you should fix this sound app  ASAP!
