Hello,

I have an HP 2000-2d09TU laptop and Just until yesterday the speakers were working fine, but today I try to listen to something but no sound coming from the speaker.

I plugged in my headphones and it seems to be working fine. But when I unplug my headphones no sound. Can anyone help me?

Thank You

Hey there! @Soewailin, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand the built in speakers on your laptop is not functioning.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

As you mentioned you are able to hear sound connecting the headphones to your PC.

Please try the steps recommended below.

After using the troubleshooting tool, make sure your desired audio device is set as default:
In Windows, type sounds into Search. Select Change system sounds in the Search results.
Alternatively, right-click the speaker icon on the taskbar and select Playback devices.
In the Sound window, from the Playback tab, select your playback device, then click Set Default. If only one playback device is listed, it is set to default automatically.
If you set speakers as your default device, proceed to the next step.
With the default playback device selected, click Configure.
Click your speaker setup in Audio channels.
Click Test to send sound to each speaker, or select an individual speaker to send sound to that speaker.
If the sound is heard correctly from each speaker, you are finished.
If the sound is missing from all or one of the speakers, or if the configuration type was changed, continue with speaker setup by clicking Next. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the speaker setup.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot audio issues.

If the issue still persists try updating the audio drivers and check if it helps.

Please update the audio drivers using this link.

I'll keep an eye out for your response.

I hope you have a great day! 🙂

Hi! @Soewailin, It's been great to hear from you again.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

As you mentioned the issue still persists after trying out the steps.

Uninstall the audio driver from device manager and install the drivers using recovery manager.

Refer this article to know how to install drivers using HP recovery manager.

If the issue still persists try perfoming a system recovery and check if it helps.

Even after the recovery if the issue persists, it is a hardware issue with the internal speakers please contact HP support for service options.

Link to contact HP.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂
