I have had this computer for about 3 months now. When I first used the audio for the computer I noticed crackling. I hadn't minded it at first because I thought that I wouldn't listen to my computer on lower volumes which is when the problem occurs. I don't know if this is a driver issue but the crackling is at any volume level 24 or below. I think it might be a driver issue because what seems to happen is I could have the volume level at 26 and just change the audio from what I'm watching (the soundbar on youtube videos) and it will work just fine.

Welcome to HP support community.
Update the Bios, chipset and Audio driver using HP Support Assistant.
Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Let me know how it goes.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

When I downloaded the HP support assistant I didn't see any of those screens that you showed. I know i used to have HP support assistant but deleted it off my computer but when I did have it it looked like that. I updated all the things that it would let me on my laptop but the issue is still there.

Run hardware test from F2 to check for any hardware failures.
-
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
-
On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
-
Click Fast Test.
-
Click Run once.
