Hello,

Been having this problem for a little while.

The speakers on my HP Envy laptop sound like they are "blown" (crackly and kind of distorted),

So far, I have tried the following:

- Going to sound settings and attempting to change enhancements/sample rate (but both options are unavailable to me, I suspect because of Conexant / Bang & Olufsen?)

- Uninstalling the Conexant driver completely and allowing Windows to reinstall the driver

- Updated the BIOs to the latest version using the hp assistant/website

Is there anything else I can attempt before I try and get this fixed?

There are many people that experiences these kind of problems. I have been in contact with HP Support but the only thing they do is uninstalling/re-installing the sound driver and system factory reset.

Solution? I couldn't find any solutions, right now.

Nope,  no solutions yet. I’ve tried reinstalling the drivers installing the new bios,  nothing.

Any ideas?

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

Please run an Audio Test and let me know if you face the same issue during the Test

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the Notebook.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Audio

Hi @KrazyToad ,

I still hear it, sounds like it’s coming from the center or left side

I am having the same problem, and my problem just started a few days ago.  Super annoying.

Why are so many folks posting online having this same issue?  Obviously this is an HP issue versus an end-user issue.

I would like to see an HP Support person who is paid by HP - jump on here and tell us ALL the solution.

Thank you.

They don't have any solutions either. I think it is a software/driver issue. Does anyone have same issues with another OS?
