If you're experiencing audio stuttering in multimedia, it could be due to several factors including hardware limitations, software issues, network problems, or even outdated drivers.

If it is because the software/driver is not updated, then:
Find out the hardware ID and check if there is an update in the Microsoft Update Catalog:

  1. Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller > expand "System devices" in 'Device Manager'
  2. Realtek(R) Audio > expand "Sound, video, and game controllers" in 'Device Manager'
  3. Realtek Audio Universal Service > expand "Software components" in 'Device Manager'

How to install:

  • The file from the Microsoft Update Catalog is .cab. Just extract it using WinRAR and software similar to WinRAR.
  • In 'Device Manager', click the ;Add drivers; icon, then navigate to the folder. (It is better to put all the downloaded drivers above into one folder at once, so that you only need to click the ;Add drivers; icon once in 'Device Manager')

In the Microsoft Update Catalog search box, just type the hardware ID of the driver that I mentioned above, if there is a newer version, install it.
> Also install the latest graphics driver for your laptop from the official HP website if it has not been updated.

Since the stuttering audio problem only occurs on the laptop speakers, not when plugging in a wired headset, it should not be due to a hardware problem, such as low SSD or RAM. And also not due to a network problem.
> I suspect it is only because the Windows audio system has an outdated driver version. That's all I can suggest.

It seems your laptop is special too, because it supports DTS X Ultra, looking at the audio driver package from HP's official website.
