I reinstalled windows xp but now I can't install the audio driver and get the error message as shown in subject line, I think I also downloaded latest BIOS drivers but problem persists. following is the specification of my notebook (as I saved this last time when my notebook was working fine) thanks for the help.

I'm not sure if you have tried this driver.. if you have'n try it
or try to find this for the Audio driver..

None of the two solutions worked ( I tried to install the driver from ur link which I had already tried but got the same error message, by the way same driver worked last time when I reinstalled the windows) but when I went to device manager there was a yellow question mark on other devices and below that was pci device which also had yellow question mark.

Also try to install the Chipset driver
