I purchased an HP Victus 15-fb2063dx Gaming Laptop. After using it for a while, I noticed something odd about the speakers. The side speakers on the bottom of the computer work normally but the top speaker just above the keyboard does absolutely nothing. Is the top speaker just a decorative feature or do I just have a bad driver?

Thanks, TheReal_Aaron

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Victus 15-fb2063dx Gaming Laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The HP Victus 15-fb2063dx Gaming Laptop has multiple speakers designed to enhance the audio experience. It's possible that the top speaker above the keyboard may be either inactive due to a hardware design choice or a driver/software issue affecting its functionality.

Check the Specifications:

  • Review the laptop's official specifications to confirm if the top speaker is meant to function or if it serves a decorative purpose.

Driver Update:

  • Ensure your audio drivers are up to date. You can visit the HP Support Page and download the latest audio drivers for your model.

Audio Settings:

  • Check the audio settings in Windows to confirm the speakers are configured correctly.
    • Right-click on the volume icon in the taskbar, select "Sounds," and navigate to the "Playback" tab.
    • Ensure your speakers are set to default and configured correctly.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

After digging around in the user guide for my laptop (and updating my speaker drivers, and spoiler alert: there was no noticeable change after installing), I have come to the conclusion that the top speaker is not a speaker but just a decorative feature. Thanks for your help!Did not label the "faulty speaker", further supporting my theory.Did not label the "faulty speaker", further supporting my theory.

Only labeled the bottom speaker which do work.Only labeled the bottom speaker which do work.
