USB-C Universal Dock (2UF95AA#ABB)
Microsoft Windows 11

When I connect a standard audio headset (earphones with a microphone, 4-pin 3.5mm jack) to my USB-C Universal Dock (2UF95AA#ABB), the audio is very noisy (as if due to interference) and very loud (I have to set in Windows the volume to 2 out of 100). When I connect the same headset to the audio port on my laptop (EliteBook 830 G6; to which the dock is connected via a USB-C cable), the output is not noisy and the volume level also is normal (ca. 40/100 corresponds to those 2/100 needed with the dock).

The dock is used to connect an external UHD monitor, ethernet cable, and wired keyboard and mouse to the laptop. The mentioned interference is so severe that even moving the mouse cursor across the screen (or other similar slight changes in the displayed image) can be heard as loud irregular screeching/crackling/static noise. The same goes for transmitting data over the ethernet etc.

Device Manager in Windows lists the respective audio device as "HP USB Media Audio". I can't find any official driver for this device. I attempted to update the driver of the entire dock but found that the version available on the HP website is older than the driver installed on my system. The problem has been occurring in both Windows 10 x64 and Windows 11 x64.

Can I upgrade the firmware of the dock? If so, how? Is there any unofficial/beta driver I could try to get rid of the very unpleasant audio noise and deal with the volume issue?

Thanks.
