HP Spectre x360 15-bl0XX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have not been able to get either one of my USB microphones Samson Go Mic and Blue Yeti) to power and be recognized by my HP Spectre x360 15-bl0XX.  They work on other desktops and laptops but not on this one.  I have updated all the drivers on my laptop through Windows and the HP Assistant but still nothing.

I also went into the Windows 10 device manager and disabled power savings in the usb controller and that did not work.

Neither device will power and they are not recognized in the device manager under the usb controller or sound.

I even tried using an Ubuntu Live CD and Linux would not power and recognize which leads me to believe that this is a problem with the laptop or it's some bios setting that I may be missing.

I will say that the ports do recognize  usb thumb drives and my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 so they are not dead ports.

Please help.

hello,  sorry for your grief,  Im not HP but know this topic well, too well really.

first off , to get non HP things to work of any kind on any HP PC made.

you need there driver, after all its there baby, not HP's,. and you proved it is missing ! with DM.

that means PnP must work, so is the internet connected?  yes , it must be.

when you plug in this alien USB device. (all ports tried im sure)

if yes, the now its MS turn to do that magic. PnP =Plug and PRAY. (PnP does work on top devices very well !)

if you read alot at MS forums you learn vast things do not work via the MS, driver CACHE servers.

one top thing is USB head phones,  they make that crystal clear, (endless non supported usb headphones)

if MS has no driver then that leaves only one other place, and that is your DEVICE MAKERS web site

see the download pages there>????

if yes, bingo

if not ask them for there missing drivers.  (if still in business that is)

(hint some times w7/8 driver work in W10) and even Vista of you have the luck of the Irish (me)

we can show 1000s of usb devices not supported now,  from year 2000 forward and endless list.

web cams vast.

and more.

if no idea at all who these guys are.? I don't

( Samson Go Mic and Blue Yeti)

but you can find them if lucky or buy products that do have full support.(including drivers)

window 10 is even worse in this regard, due to makers old not supporting W10 or worse when MS asked them

they  were not in business now, or flat refused to send a WHQL driver to MS. or can't speak english. oops.

all facts.

YFMV. your facts may vary, sorry for the trouble with USB DRIVERS<  USB is the most hard, due to anyone can plug anything in the slot and do.

cheers and happy holiday....
