Hi, is it possible for me to use my huawei p20 pro usb type c earphones through the usb-c port on the side. I have tried plugging them in and using them, however have had no success through this.

@IThompson02 I went through the compatibility list shared earlier, and it looks like your device may not support a USB Type-C headphone, however, it should work with an HP USB-C™ to USB 3.0mm and 4.5mm Adapter, you can connect any normal headphone that uses a 3.5mm and 4.5mm barrel connectors to your USB adapter that should work.

Refer to this article for details: Click here under "Features and compatibilities of USB-C adapters".

I hope that answers your query,

Welcome to HP Forums,

Let's get straight to it!

Here's all you need to do, to ensure the USB-Type C earphones work on your device:

Ensure it's compatible, using the article mentioned in this link: Click here

If it's compatible, try the below steps:

  1. Plug your headphones in.
  2. At the bottom right side of your desktop taskbar, right-click the volume icon and select Playback devices.
  3. Check the default device and if it detects the headphones you plugged in.
  4. If it does not detect your headphones, you will need to update your BIOS: Click here for instructions.

Let me know how that pans out,
