My computer's volume mixer is acting strangely. When it has more than about 4 different applications open, it begins to randomly cycle through applications to silence and applications to return to normal. I can't get it to stop by silencing anything myself. There are also occasionally times where an application's sound will just flicker (toggle) on and off very rapidly and nothing I can do to it will stop it from doing so, it just stops on its own.

@Arraka I suggest you reinstall the audio drivers from the device manager and update them from the HP website, when done update the BIOS as well and check if the issue is resolved,
if the issue persists, please create a new user account and check if that helps.
