Why is my laptop volume keep having 100% ability, eventough I set it 2% only.
It's bugging me out since the sound output is very loud.
It's only been 4 months since bought my laptop on January 2017.
I've tried fixing it by reset the volume from settings, but nothing change.
Now, whenever I touch the 'volume decrease' button until it become 'mute', there is this 'hibrate' sound kind like that keep getting louder.
Please anyone help me to fix it. I'll appreciate it.

You're welcome. 🙂
If this issue started after performing the update then you may perform a Microsoft System Restore to rollback the laptop to an earlier date when it worked fine. A system restore will not delete your data.
The step 2 to step 9 are very important from the link I sent, please ensure that all steps were performed.
Let me know. All the best! 🙂

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP Pavilion x360 13-u031tu laptop. I read that the sound increases gradually on your laptop even after you set it to 2%. this causes the sound to be very loud. Even when you mute to audio, the sound again increases later. You have reset the volume settings and the issue persists. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:
- Since when are you facing this issue? Did any software changes or updated happen on the laptop?
- Does the sound increase on all the applications (Youtube, watching movies, etc.) or on a particular application.
Meanwhile, I did some research and suggest you to perform the following steps to fix the issue:
-
Turn off the computer.
-
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
-
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
-
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
-
Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to reset.
Please perform the steps as described in detail from this link. Though this link provides steps for no sound issue, these steps also help to fix other sound related issues.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted on how it goes. Cheers! 🙂
